Damon and I, along with our kiddos Presley, Ryan and Joshua were called into mission work in early 2023.
It started with a whisper from the Lord to me to homeschool my children. Since they all grew up in a Christian school, I did not understand why God was asking me to pull them from a school they knew and loved. But after several months of wrestling with the nagging word from the Lord, I finally gave God my "yes" and began the process of pulling Presley, Ryan and Joshy out of the school system and simultaneously teaching myself how to teach three kids in two different grades.
Approximately one month after I gave God my "yes," I felt another word from the Lord: that our family would be uprooting the life we knew to join YWAM in 2024.
Damon and I are currently enrolled at YWAM Kona's Discipleship Training School (DTS), Fire & Fragrance, and Presley, Ryan and Joshua are all attending a children's DTS called Foundation School. At the end of March, we will leave for approximately three months to South Africa, where we will help continue to fulfill The Great Commission.
Part of the donations we receive will be to help fund the outreach portion of our outreach trip, while God has also put it on our hearts to help bless the younger generation at YWAM who are in need of financial partnership.

What will we be doing on outreach?
During the outreach phase, our class will break up into teams to serve God out in the world. We will have a chance to discover our abilities as we care for people and share the good news of Jesus in South Africa!
YWAM reaches out in 180+ countries through three main areas — Evangelism, Training and Mercy Ministry. Their ministries cover every sphere of society, including ship-based medical care, performing arts teams, Bible training programs, business coaching, sports ministries, anti-trafficking work, and many more. YWAM functions as a family of ministries rather than a centralized agency.
What does ywam do?
The DTS is a six month program blending classroom learning, small group activities, personal reflection, practical service, and community living. The training comes in two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase.
